Stop bedroom door rattling. This is an easy and quick fix for those rattly doors that keep on rattling in the wind or when you close other doors. Screw the strike plate back in place check the door and adjust if needed. Test the door by closing it. Close the door and hold a block of wood against the doorstop.
To stop a door from rattling when it s closed remove the strike plate and bend the metal tab forward slightly using pliers so the latch fits securely in the strike plate. The problem probably originates from the metal tab on the strike plate being bent away from the door. Place the door stop back in its old position on the doorjamb and hammer it in with several nails. Smack the wood until the door stop moves enough to touch the door.
